Bandicoot Set To Release New Single “Dark Too Long”

Due 26th February via Libertino Records

2021 is destined to be the year of Bandicoot. The Welsh 4 piece have recently joined the impressive Libertino family, that amalgamation alone showcases the talent that Bandicoot convey. Libertino Records have this remarkable knack for introducing so many talented outfits and their must-hear records.

Bandicoot will release their phenomenal debut single “Dark Too Long” via Libertino February 26th, a song they describe as a “frenzied cry of desperation from the depths of excess and loneliness, influenced by the driving rhythms of NEU! and Can.”

Bandicoot have earned a ferocious reputation, thanks to their raucous, overflowing live shows that spin euphorically from post-punk and krautrock to glam stomp and art-pop sensuality at the drop of a note.

“Bandicoot are wired instinctively to the cathartic screams of John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band, the lustful danger of The Velvet Underground, and CAN’s cinematic propulsion. They are the art-house provocateurs of Warhol’s Factory brought to life on Swansea’s rainy streets” – Libertino

Prepare yourselves for one of the most supremely powerful compositions to be released this year. Bandicoot have this bold vision and together they are an unstoppable force, their new single emits this explosive and euphoric essence.

At just over 3 minutes 30 seconds, Bandicoot delve into unknown depths to provide such a huge immersive instrumentation. The new release starts with this instant introduction to a gritty and complex atmosphere meandering through the angular direction delivered through the outfit’s stand-out tone. The track is possessed with this brutal urgency, an esoteric current runs throughout as Bandicoot creates an impressive structure filled with boisterous beats, a cinematic drive, and carefree crashing cymbals. The vocals deliver this lyrical confrontation, easily relatable but delivered with a hint of aggression. Throughout, the vocals glide soulfully over the top and intertwine with the guitar melodies.

Sinister, fuzz filled bass notes fill the atmosphere before the fierce guitar shreds and then breaks the momentum for the repetitive lyrics to take charge and appeal. The new release is a melody-heavy rock formation delivering these intoxicating stop-starts, the energy bounces off the break-downs that inject some ease into the intensive strikes of this heavy instrumentation.

Bandicoot carefully control their accelerated angst that competes against the hard-hitting creation. Bandicoot have reflected this punk-inspired rebellious, blistering swagger into their vision, mirrored in their resilience, their raw vocal notes, and all-around anthemic ensemble.

With “Dark Too Long“, Bandicoot are clearly striving for perfection. This act obliterates their soundscape, the vocals blaze throughout their exploration and the feisty momentum provides this addictive trance. You will be captivated by this outfit.
