Jane Inc. Shares Debut Single, “Gem”
Announces Debut Album: Number One – March 19, 2021

Toronto-based Jane Inc., the new project of Carlyn Bezic, best known for her work as part of U.S. Girls, Ice Cream and Darlene Shrugg has shared her debut single, “Gem” via the video she co-directed with Shanda Bezic.
Alongside the music, she is also announcing details of her first album, Number One which is set for release via beloved Toronto label, Telephone Explosion Records on March 19, 2021.
“Gem” is the perfect introduction to this compelling artist creating their own musical movement which will hypnotize. A sultry blend of textures, a daring rhythm, and bright layers that compliment the wholesome vocal harmonies that cascade over the arrangement.
Written and produced by Bezic, the new project is unlike anything she has been part of previously. Beginning as a one-woman show, Carlyn wrote and produced the early songs for Number One by layering multiple instruments on top of samples and drum breaks. She later recruited recording engineer, Steve Chahley to co-produce and record drum and drum machine with Toronto drummer, Evan J. Cartwright (Tasseomancy, U.S Girls, Eucalyptus), adding saxophone by Nick Dourado (BUDi Band, Aquakultre, Fiver) and Wurlitzer by Scott Harwood (Scott Hardware).
