SOCIALLY DISTANCED CHRISTMAS SHOW AT EARTH HACKNEY ANNOUNCED FOR 17TH DECEMBER 2020

The Staves are excited to unveil ‘Satisfied’, taken from their upcoming new album “Good Woman”, due for release on 5th February 2021. ‘Satisfied’ is the third track so far released from the album alongside ‘Trying’ and ‘Good Woman’, all of which effortlessly showcase the trio’s peerless harmonies and innate flair for tender melody. They have also released a stunning live video for the track, recorded at Sunbeam Studios and directed by Olivia Eames.

The trio have also announced a very special socially distanced Christmas show at EartH Hackney on 17th December 2020. Tickets are on sale now www.communionmusic.co.uk

The band had to say on Satisfied:

“This started out with an acoustic guitar. The song asking its subject – will they ever be satisfied with what they have? Is it ever enough? But also urging them not to give up on themselves, and love. The song really came to life when we added the band, and gave strength and a backbone to the whole sentiment of the song (as well as a great groove!). Hope you enjoy…”

The Staves are back and continue to impress with their emotionally enriched soulful compositions.

The Staves have also been announced as part of a series of live shows alongside Lianne La Havas, Jack Garratt, Bear’s Den, and James Bay in South and East London for February 2021. The shows were originally announced for November, and all tickets purchased for the original dates remain valid.

Info on ‘Good Woman’

Good Woman was written and recorded in a time of severe turmoil for the band, seeing the ending of relationships, the death of their beloved mother and the birth of Emily’s first child. Produced by John Congleton, the album stands as a testament to their strength and that of other women, to sisters, mothers and daughters. To love, loss and change. To trying to be a good woman.

The Staves: “It’s taken us a long time to get here but we are so excited to announce our new album, ‘Good Woman’.

“We have been working on this for a long time and are thrilled to share the title track with you. When we think about making this album we think about moments and snapshots of all the different contexts we were in as it was made. Living in each other’s pockets and then living with oceans between us. On voice notes and field recordings and ideas in emails sent across continents. We think of homesickness and family. Of being an outsider. Of endless notebooks and scraps of paper. Of studios in the winter and recordings under the summer sun. Of rainy London days and long American night with coffees and beers, dogs and cats. We think of love. Big, big love. Our Mum. Our Dad, Our friends. And of loss. Death and birth. Womanhood, motherhood. Sisterhood.

And coming home.”
