New Single ‘Passed Out On A Hollywood Star’ Out Now

Cardiff quartet TJ Roberts are delighted to announce the news of their second album, Love, Loss & Other Useless Things, set for release on 8th December 2020 via Rose Parade Recording Co.

TJ Roberts craft vital rock rhythms and manage to effortlessly capture their standout energy within their instrumentations. The outfit has this profound ability to harness a warmth found in the compelling lyrics, the tantalizing instrumentation, and the recording itself.

Passed Out On A Hollywood Star” is such a searing and soulful rock effort. Addictive and wholesome. TJ Roberts utilizes their skills of creating perfect rock arrangements whilst weaving in their own pop instincts to create this raucous and blistering arrangement.

TJ Roberts continues to envelop what rock n roll really is. They craft mesmerizing and audacious full-fired compositions. Gritty and complex, deep layers of sound and hypnotic vocals. With their new single soaring vocals from Tom deliver this infectious quality and complimenting vocal harmonies ooze charm, whilst this mixes with their immersive floor-filling beat and psychedelic riff – the powerful track will devour you.

TJ Roberts already has legendary status and with their latest release, this just adds to their profound outlook. Another hit!

Commenting on the single, the band say: “POHS was written after watching the documentary ‘Going Clear’, a portrait of a new recruit to a new-age cult. It’s a song that calls on the glamour of old Hollywood and its facade, with the same fascination as was held by the artists of Laurel Canyon in the 70s.”

For those yet to meet his acquaintance, TJ Roberts is an artist soaked in transatlantic tradition. Consummate entertainers live, he and the band have a broad spread of classic influences, variously evoking the earworm melodies of Big Star, the mid-west charm of Twin Peaks and Wilco, along with the beautiful drawl of the late, great David Berman.

Alongside bandmates Heather, Gavin, and Jasper, since 2018 frontman Tom (aka Thomas John Roberts) has set his sights on pushing their rock-infused ‘indie-cana’ to its limits, employing the talents of respected producer Tom Rees (Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Do Nothing, Panic Shack) at the controls to bring their latest album to fruition.

The new record will be the follow up to their 2019 debut album Best New Reissue, and though the individual narratives on Love, Loss & Other Useless Things may cover a lot of ground, there is clear connective tissue between these highly crafted songs which makes every step feel deliberate and considered.
