PYNCH Share New Single ‘The Whole World’s Going Crazy (For Love)’- Out Now

Due on limited double A-Side 10″ January 29th,
featuring previous single ‘Somebody Else’

London indie quartet Pynch have shared new single ‘The Whole World’s Going Crazy (For Love)’, which will be self-released on January 29th via a limited double A-side 10″ featuring previous hit track ‘Somebody Else‘.

Pynch originally started life as a set of demos written and recorded by singer Spencer Enock in his parent’s Ramsgate basement, taking inspiration from indie stalwarts like LCD Soundsystem, The War On Drugs, The Strokes and Beach Fossils to name a few. On moving to London to study music, Spencer met bandmates-to-be Julianna Hopkins (Drums), James Rees (Guitar) and Jimmy Folan (Bass) and Pynch was born.

“I actually wrote this song back in December and recorded a really rough demo of it but then I just sort of forgot about it,” frontman and track producer Spencer explains. “After the surprising success of Somebody Else, which was the first track I’d ever properly produced and mixed, I wanted to start recording the next single straight away and thought this was an apt choice as the world only seems to be getting stranger by the day.”

A more condensed track than the sprawling psychedelics of July’s ‘Somebody Else’, The Whole World’s Going Crazy (For Love) is a punchy two and a half minute pop gem in which Spencer says he “Tries to depict the neoliberal hellscape in which we find ourselves in a playful but stark way.”

He continues; “It’s also about how doing things for love is almost an act of rebellion in itself and is one of the things in life we do have control over; we may not be able to change the world but we can change our corner of it. I thought the idea of the world heading towards apocalypse and everybody singing Kumbaya was quite funny and sad and I wanted to put it into a song.”

‘The Whole World’s Going Crazy (For Love)’ will leave it’s mark on you. Take in the textures and the brutally honest lyrics. These carefully woven vocal harmonies float amidst an abundance of piercing guitar notes, shimmering soundbites and a big developing landscape. The track twists and turns through it’s dreamy somewhat psychedelic atmosphere as the intensity is ramped up. All the while channeling observational lyrics through the swirling orchestration.
