Brad Stank shares video for “She Was A Tease” ft King Krule Sax player Gal Go & Argentine actor, visual artist & producer Calu Rivero (aka DIGNITY)
Debut album Kinky Om is out now with vinyl available now
Brad Stank shares the video for his most recent single “She Was A Tease”, the final track to preview his debut album Kinky Om which came out on the 5th June via Heist or Hit (Her’s, Pizzagirl, Guest Singer).
Whilst the song features an impressive sax performance from King Krule collaborator Gal Go, he to stars in its accompanying video as does Argentine actor, visual artist & producer Calu Rivero (aka DIGNITY). Stank describes the video as “a bit Bond, a bit Pink Panther, and all the colours are inspired by those gorgeous old Blue Note record sleeves.”
Such a beautiful masterpiece.
Having been friends via Instagram for a while, he and DIGNITY had wanted to work together on a video at some point: “She is involved in all sorts of activism” Stank explains. “She also really loves mushrooms, and has just directed a “micro short film” about her respect for and connection to nature. Just an absolute legend, basically.”
Having planned to meet up in March while DIGNITY was in Europe, the pandemic forced them into a socially distanced video where Stank was shot by Corey Rid in their flat: “We sent Calu some projections to move in front of, and she filmed herself and sent us the footage to edit” says Brad. “The man the myth the legend Gal Go also sent us some footage that he filmed of himself playing the sax and Corey edited it all together. Doing it this way probably fits the song better, to be honest!”
Debut album Kinky Om saw Brad Stank team up with producer Saam Jafarzadeh (Her’s). The LP pays homage to pioneers such as Marvin Gaye, D’Angelo, George Harrison and John Lennon and juxtaposes his learning of Eastern philosophy and the teachings of Jack Kerouac, Paramahansa Yogananda, Jiddu Krishnamurti against sexuality.
