DEAD PONY Release New Single ‘Sharp Tongues’ Out Now Via LAB Records
Glasgow’s newest post-punk exports Dead Pony continue their relentless ascent with fiery second cut ‘Sharp Tongues’, set for release July 24th via LAB Records.
Confident, assertive and dripping with rage, the fearless quartet’s latest effort justifies the excitement surrounding the thriving Scottish scene, as they follow in the footsteps of fellow risers The Ninth Wave and Walt Disco, attracting widespread acclaim throughout the press landscape (NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Dork, Gigwise) and across the BBC Radio 1 airwaves (Huw Stephens, Jack Saunders).
The new single is sonically enormous- this is easily one of the most aspiring acts out there. Harnessing their ability to project their aggression in the most melodic manner. ‘Sharp Tongues’ is high-powered and infectious, rhythmic and raucous. An abundance of dynamic instrumentation pitched tweaks and sounds and the most mesmerizing front-person capturing the audience with the fierce and powerful vocal delivery. The scorched vocals capture the attitude of this act.
Enigmatic frontwoman Anne Shields revealed: “‘Sharp Tongues’ is written about those people who absolutely grind your ears. Those people who are hellbent on spreading gossip and starting rumours. They are so unfulfilled with their boring lives, that to add a bit of spice they rely on stirring the pot and starting shit with people. I bet everyone had at least one-person spring to mind after reading that – and that is who this song is about”.
Dead Pony’s ‘Sharp Tongues’ is out July 24th via LAB Records and will be available on all digital platforms here.
