Toodles & The Hectic Pity Releases New Acoustic EP ‘Familiar Pieces of Furniture’

Mid June, Toodles & the Hectic Pity released their new acoustic EP ‘Familiar Pieces Of The Furniture’. The delicate new record by the folk-punk, three-piece from Bristol is a beautifully bold release.

The record was dropped June 16th and the proceeds through purchases via bandcamp was donated to the United Friends & Family Campaign.

The 3 track release features stripped-back, reimagined versions of Toodles well known tracks from their previous EPs Call in Sick and Ghosts, Guilt & Grandparents.

The EP was recorded separately in each member’s homes during the lockdown period, using the equipment and instruments the band had to hand. Originally intended to be composite videos produced in collaboration with Dan Canvin, Toodles & the Hectic Pity decided to release the masters as their own companion EP.

Of the release the band said “With recording help and encouragement from Kyle Edwards, Adam Cook and Dan Canvin. It’s rough and ready but it’s totally our own and we poured ourselves into it and it stopped us going crazy for a while, and then facilitated us going a bit loopy too”

The new live recordings are a refreshing listen. The EP comes into it’s own own with the re-workings of the tracks. Melodic and meaningful, Toodles & the Hectic Pity have captured their promising talents in their new release. At the heart of each acoustic track- emotion. Emotion runs deep within the lyrics, sang with passion and pride. With the tender renditions and the gentle instrumentations, this is a record worthy of your attention.
