SHARE TRIPPY NEW VIDEO FOR ‘THE LIGHT’

The ever innovative Joseph Mount-fronted electronic indie-pop collective Metronomy today share their brand new video for ‘The Light’, which appears on their 2019 album Metronomy Forever, released via Because Music. The video was directed by Mount, with animation by visual artist Gabriel Rolim, who was a collaborator on Metronomy’s lockdown series ‘Metronomy TV’.

Every Monday evening across the first eight weeks of lockdown, Metronomy bought fans together with their weekly series ‘MTV’ (Metronomy TV). Jumping from Joe Mount’s studio to bandmates and special guests across the globe, activities on MTV included everything from house parties, life drawing, cooking classes with Monty’s Deli head chef Owen Barrett, art from Braulio Amado, language learning, game shows, live performances, Q&As and more.

In April, Metronomy digitally shared Oscar Cash Forever, created by Metronomy member and multi-instrumentalist Oscar Cash. Oscar Cash Forever is a collection of original tracks inspired by songs from the band’s 2019 album Metronomy Forever, which originally featured as a surprise vinyl in the deluxe physical edition of the album.

Metronomy Forever is the band’s sixth studio album and perfectly corroborates Metronomy’s innate and unorthodox gift for emulsifying disparate genres and sounds. From blending vintage synths and psychedelia, to fusing off-kilter funk with glistening melodic pop, what results is an undeniably enthralling and mesmerising record that makes it clear to see why their fans administer a cult-like devotion to the band.

The album received tremendous praise across press (The Guardian, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NME, Dazed and FADER) and huge radio support from the likes of Radio 1’s  Annie Mac, Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo and Phil Taggart, as well as 6 Music and Matt Wilkinson at Beats1.
