SNEAL SHARES NEW SINGLE + VIDEO “NO MORE PIE”

TAKEN FROM FORTHCOMING EP ‘MINTY’

DUE JUNE 5th VIA BOTCAVE RECORDS

Introduce yourself to one of the most expressive experimental acts of our time- SNEAL.

SNEAL is described as the musical outpost of the larger organ donor art factory that is SNEAL. Featuring Michael Coleman, Kurt Kottheimer, and SNEAL himself, who is, of course, the manifestation of these collected organs in a single body that was able to make it to the studio on the train.

Today, SNEAL has shared the second single from the upcoming EP ‘Minty‘ set for release June 5th via BotCave Records.

Speaking of the track, SNEAL shares the following:

“‘No More Pie’ began as a sort of a poem or lyric that I gave to my collaborator Michael “Rocketship” Coleman. I was hoping he might want to use it for his upcoming record that I’d been sending him a bunch of gibberish for over the course of last year. He recorded a beautiful version on piano but it wasn’t a complete song. Then I came to New York to record some different music, a project that evolved into our forthcoming SNEAL MINTY EP—also with Michael and our friend and hero Kurt Kotheimer, incredible bassist and soundsmith. Kurt somehow got those robot voices you hear to sing the words—the same words Michael sings, more or less. Then Michael wrote that great synth part that starts the song. Then the robots got put on top of the synth somehow, perhaps at their command, and Kurt added some beautiful fretless bass. So we had two sections based around those words and Michael faded them together when I was asleep. I woke up and screamed.

The video is a collaboration with the great Britt Ciampa. Recently he’s exhibited an interesting transformation: in the space of just a few years, he’s gone from being just about the best drummer I’ve ever seen to the best special effects compositor guy I’ve ever met. I don’t know how he did it. I doubt anybody else has even attempted it. certainly not with anything like this fella’s aplomb.”

NO MORE PIE forms with twinkly notes building on the electronic soundscapes and gentle key scales. SNEAL delicately creates a deep texture within NO MORE PIE before brooding and complex distorted vocals and dark lyrics become the focus of the composition, the bleak lyrics take this track for a gloriously cynical turn before the single breaks down and returns for its compelling 2nd act- a breakthrough in many ways. Additional vocals bring an essence of hope projected through this exhilarating orchestration.

We are delighted to share the new video for the single, watch below:

NO MORE PIE– is a beautifully unsettling instrumentation, and that’s not a bad thing. It’s a stunning piece of music and contextually contrasting- with upbeat vocals crossing paths with disfunction piano notes and trailing electro ambiance towards the latter of the journey. Within the textures carefully created, powerful attributes are delivered within an intense and raw atmosphere. NO MORE PIE somehow resonates with an air of vulnerability. Expressive and sonically striking.

SNEAL Shares: “The music is the sum of our influences, T-Pain and Captain Beefheart. Half of it was forcibly composed by the ghost of an automaton that gained “free will” somewhere inside Kurt’s hard drives.
SNEAL recorded previously with Mr. Coleman, et al, under the moniker RELIGIOUS PHASE.”
