Ancient Whales Release Special LP,
Live at Adult Swim
via Gypsy Farm Records

A band that thrived in the underground house show scene, and became a favorite at festivals, playing garage rock with psychedelic undertones, punk tendencies and pop melodies, Ancient Whales are a combo based in the southeast of glorious noise and huge, melodic riff rock.

Live at Adult Swim is their latest live collaboration with drummers Bryan Poole (of Montreal, Elf Power, Elephant Six, The Late B.P. Helium) and Scott Woodward, both hailing from Athens, GA. The album was recorded in Atlanta at the Cartoon Network Adult Swim studios for the show Bloodfeast, featuring Ancient Whales as the live comedy broadcast’s musical guest.

Songwriters Enoch Bledsoe (Twin Tigers, Puddin’ Tang) and Natalie Bledsoe seek to explore the intricacies of existence and the nature of human beings in an honest, simple and accessible way. The Ancient Whales approach is to ask, “What would this look like if it were simple?” The songs deconstruct social conventions and illuminate basic human values all the while beckoning the listener to forget their worries, have fun and sing along. In today’s culture of hate, Ancient Whales want to spread a little love!

Over the past 10 years, the band has hosted a revolving cast of gifted musicians such as Oakley Munson (Black Lips, The Rondelles) and Shaun Ringsmuth (Street Sects), and have been featured on Athen’s Popfest, Athfest, Chattanooga’s Do Ya Hear We fest and Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim show Bloodfeast. England’s The Mad Mackerel has included Ancient Whales on its “Best of the Month” and “Feel Bad for You Choice Cuts” mixes.

Ancient Whales has gladly shared the stage with such talents as The Nude Party, Caroline Rose, Axxa/Abraxas, Babe Rainbow, Greg Cartwright of Reigning Sound, Allah-Las, Ghost Wolves, Mr. Elevator & The Brain Hotel, DJ Jared Swilley (of Black Lips), The Humms, Anwar Sadat, Thelma and the Sleaze and many more.

Ancient Whales continue to thrive, to captivate and to exhilarate their audience with their relentless passion, their talent to mould genres and craft maximum music.
