Releases New Single ‘Easy’

Out Now via Slow Dance

South London experimental artist GLOWS returns with ‘Easy’ on 25 March via Slow Dance. ‘Easy’ is a perfect distillation of the “post-club, bedroom-pop” sound he has been honing since emerging on the scene with ‘PERLA’ back in 2018. This s the first of a series of releases that will be appearing throughout the first half of 2020 and sees him in more upbeat territory than before, the agitated drums and glitchy synths have shedded some of the starkness, but he keeps the vital stylistic darkness that makes his music so engrossing.

Late last year, Glows released his debut EP ‘JL Hooker Love Pleasure Forever’, an enquiry into modern-living presented as 21st century blues; the EP is mired in a general dysphoria, sadness, and acknowledges the counter-intuitive idolisation of sadness. It is swampy, darkly paranoid and unsettling at every turn; but there is also a playfulness within the production that stops it from becoming overwhelming, and ultimately making it a fascinating and absorbing listen that repays multiple listens.

As a co-founder of Slow Dance, Glows has been an integral part of London’s DIY nightlife for the last few years putting on early gigs from black midi, Squid and Great Dad amongst others; they have also released music from artists such as St Jude, Martha Skye Murphy and PVA. When not appearing as Glows, GG Skips performs in experimental indie upstarts Sorry who are releasing their debut album this year via Domino.
