For Breakfast Set To Release New Single ‘Mother’ 13th March Via Glasshouse Records

Ahead of the release of their debut EP ‘Songs In the Key of O’, North London six-piece For Breakfast announce their new single ‘Mother’.

Recorded in November 2019 at Shaken Oak Farm, Oxford, For Breakfast’s sound charts a course from driving post-punk to spacious post-rock via jazz, psych and dream-pop, too anxious to stay put yet drawing all the joy they can from their surroundings. Think the liminal space between the shifting catharsis of Mogwai, the angularity of Preoccupations and the soaring melodies of Hop Along.

The first release from “Songs in the Key of O” is “Mother”, a paean to adolescent anxiety in the family home, packaged as an infectious post-pop journey through rock and jazz before arriving at the chaotic, motorik dirge that pushes everything to a wonderful level of Alice in Wonderland-like madness.

‘Mother’ is a graceful orchestration with ardent instrumentation pushing this single into much courageous and heavy depths. With soaring and melodic vocals intricately weaving throughout the textures of this projection. The single builds up and builds on it’s bold layers and it works to a momentous and heightened crescendo. For Breakfast have created a vivacious and truly heroic single which empowers the listener and captures their attention from the first note.

Mother’ will be released for digital download on 13th March 2020 via Glasshouse Records’ Bandcamp, website and will be available on most major streaming services.

In support of the single release, For Breakfast will be celebrating with their single launch headline show at The Windmill, Brixton on 19th March. Save the date and click attend here –https://www.facebook.com/events/1287939031391741/
