Dream Nails are tackling the issues that affect them and the LGBT+ community head-on through their self-titled debut album, now due out 04 September via Alcopop! Records. New single ‘Kiss My Fist’ pulls no punches in its rage against homophobic violence. Guitarist Anya Pearson says: “As a queer woman, I live in fear of violence every day because of my sexuality and the way I look. We were all shocked by that image of queer couple Melania Geymonat and Christine Hannigan, who were left bloodied and bruised by a group of teenagers for refusing to kiss on a London bus.

In the UK anti-LGBT hate crime has surged in the past five years. On the one-year anniversary of that attack, we are releasing Kiss My Fist in honour of all the queer people of this world trying to get from A to B without getting beaten up. Our message to homophobes and transphobes is clear: ask us to kiss again, and we will eat your brain”

The powerful track was written in a whirlwind, just days after the violent attack, and a fortnight before the band went into the studio to record the album with Tarek Musa of Spring King. It follows the release of ‘Payback’, another anger-fuelled composition aimed squarely at the lack of justice for survivors of sexual violence. The first single to be revealed from the album ‘Corporate Realness’ was released by Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine’s very own Firebrand Records in North America and, also featuring on the record, recent single ‘Text Me Back (Chirpse Degree Burns)’ was named Best New Track in The Guardian and received plays on BBC Radio 1, 6Music, Radio X and Kerrang! Radio.

‘Dream Nails’ is a queer feminist party. It’s an intoxicating and rallying kaleidoscope of righteous rage, tongue-in-cheek commentary on modern constructs and pure riotous fun. Dream Nails bring that party to their live show, which is a vibrant, all-consuming experience that’ll find you dancing, singing and shouting along in no time. They’ll be embarking on a headline tour, now being rescheduled for Sept / Oct 2020 with all previously purchased tickets remaining valid, as well as appearing at various festivals.
