Heist or Hit’s newest signee SKIA shares visuals for glittering debut single ‘Anyone’

Equipped with an audacious batch of fjord-beat bangers, Norwegian alt-pop innovator SKIA shares the visuals for dazzling debut single ‘Anyone’, out now via Heist or Hit (Her’s, Pizzagirl, Nature TV).

Partnering up with the cult indie label as they shift into Scandipop territory, SKIA’s medicating sound, filled with sick beats, glacial synths and melodic nutrients, reinterprets the acoustic foundation of songs like an electro architect to arrive at an exhilarating juxtaposition.

Produced in her adopted hometown of Liverpool, SKIA (the project of Annie Norbye) has successfully immersed herself in the city’s ever-thriving underground scene and will be playing her debut live show at The Kazimier Stock Room on February 21st, with several additional dates lined up ahead of her debut EP release this summer.

Discussing the ideas behind the visuals, SKIA revealed: “The idea for the Anyone video was unclear for a long time, all I knew is that I wanted my friends, bikes and wedding dresses to be involved. I love the contrast between the white dresses and a grimy Liverpool back-street, and that it’s got nothing to do with marriage. The bad-ass energy that I initially wanted for the video was brought to life by film-maker Corey Ridd and all the amazing girls who were crazy enough to dance in the street with me on a freezing cold November day, only wearing wedding dresses. Although there’s no concrete story-line to the video we were really able to bring out the feeling of empowerment and sass in a very aesthetically pleasing way.”

Live Dates
21st February – The Kazimier Stock Room, Liverpool

SKIA’s ‘Anyone’ is out now via Heist or Hit and will be available on all digital platforms.
