Dogeyed Share New Single “Kalimotxo”
Ahead of its official release 25th February via Specialist Subject Records
At the start of 2018, we introduced the exciting trio Dogeyed to our readers. Initially, a solo project, singer & guitarist Harriet Elder has been performing and recording lo-fi bedroom demos since 2016. Recently she’s been joined by Jonathan Minto (who also plays in Caves) on drums and Tim Rowing-Parker (from Woahnows) playing bass.
We have to admit, we are slightly obsessed with this band. They keep releasing such powerful tracks and are the true embodiment of DIY in their current scene. Since their inception, this band are growing as a dynamic and creative entity and their arrangements are showcasing their skills.
There’s a certain vocal empowerment within Dogeyed‘s new orchestration. It’s a slower-paced single with a momentous message. The dark subject matter is an area the band look into lyrically, exploring desperation and misery, their workmanship drives their projection and the outcome is enthralling. You look for the underlying message when the lyrics “you always fail me” strike a nerve; this band can tug on our emotions in the simplest lines layered on such intelligent instrumentation plodding you along with the addictive beats. Elders‘ vocals continue to pull you in, charming and captivating and always harmonious- you can hear the heartfelt intensity on certain notes.
We are delighted to be able to share the new single ahead of it’s official release, Tuesday 25th. Listen below:
