Parachute For Gordo Share New Single ‘Dalai Llama’

New Album ‘Best Understood By Children And Animals’ Due 14th February Via Beth Shalom Records

Instrumental post-rock band Parachute for Gordo are pleased to reveal a brand new single, as well as revealing details of their forthcoming new LP, with Best Understood By Children And Animals, set for release on 14th February 2020 via Beth Shalom Records.

Alongside the news, the band have revealed a run of February 2020 UK tour dates to coincide with the album release, with tickets on sale now-

Parachute For Gordo live:

13.02.20 – Birmingham – Centrala

14.02.20 – London – Slaughtered Lamb

15.02.20 – Aldershot – West End Centre

16.02.20 – Brighton – Prince Alberts (matinee show)

New single ‘Dalai Llama’ is out now on all good digital service providers—a pulsing, twisting exploration into imaginary soundscapes as small as an atom, as big as the sun. Emotional aggregates made physical, layered upon each other to suggest freedom, ordered chaos, longing and belonging.

What begins with lyrical, sing-song melody gives way to a blanket of pure sound, wrapping the listener up in layers of soft, undulating sheets of noise before landing softly and thanking you for flying Gordo Airlines.

‘Dalai Llama’ is such a bold single from the trio, equally intense as it is uplifting. The track completely attacks your senses, a blistering and boisterous instrumental composition which multiples into a fury of explosive crescendo resulting in an intoxicating climax.  The single showcases the band’s take on the cinematic landscapes of heavy post-rock and the madness of raw emotion.

Parachute for Gordo consists of Laura Lee – guitar, John Harvey – bass and Mark Glaister – drums. The three are easily an unmissable and dynamic band, this is THE band to watch for 2020. Their sound is vast, huge on a monumental scale, you’ll be surprised their engaging orchestrations are the sound from a band of 3.

The single is completed by two b-sides, including a live session version of hit single ‘Decoy Octopus’ and Part II of the Onomatopoeia Suite, ‘Flight of the Grumble Bee’, continuing the series of experimental improvised music that began with Part I’s ‘Clap Clap I’m A Seal’ on previous single ‘Markhor Parkour’.

Best Understood by Children and Animals is the fourth album from the underground veterans, recorded by producer Mark Roberts (Delta Sleep, The Physics House Band) at Brighton Electric. After having self-produced their previous albums on a shoestring budget, Best Understood By Children and Animals is Gordo’s first foray into a professional studio environment. This new approach has allowed the band to develop their sound in every direction to make something more expansive, intense and intricate than ever before.

Best Understood By Children And Animals is released 14th February 2020 via Beth Shalom Records
