RE—TEXTURED is a unique festival that explores the relationship between modernist and industrial architecture, experimental music and the visual arts in London.
Returning for its second year, the 2020 addition takes place between 2-5 April and welcomes another year of unparalleled talent from across the globe. RE—TEXTURED is a multi-day, multi-venue, multi-sensory festival that places visual spectacles and cerebral sonics inside the capitals most interesting architectural builds to deliver a unique arresting experience.
Marrying the buildings with innovative lighting and visual experiences the festival transforms and re-introduces BFI, Tobacco Dock, Southbank Centre, Oval Space, E1 London and Village Underground; with more venues to be announced. Each building will play host to boundary breaking events designed to examine and celebrate the relationship between experimental electronic music and its urban surroundings.
The theme of RE—TEXTURED 2020 is connection, of the singular and the collective, all explored through a multi-sensory approach within 6 areas; re—connect, re—play, re—write, re—see, re—mind and re—think. The genres championed across the festival will be ambient, drone, leftfield electronic and techno and will invite it’s audience to escape their digital lives and fully immerse themselves into a world of sound, light and space.
RE—TEXTURED pledged a 50/50 gender balance for their inaugural festival line-up and will continue to do so in their 2020 edition and beyond.
More venues and artists to be announced in 2020.
