Hailing from Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, songwriter, Jennah Barry is today sharing her dazzling new single, ‘The Real Moon’ . The new track, that looks to highlight Barry’s penchant for scintillating melody and attentive way with lyricism, is set for release via Forward Music Group marking Barry’s first foray of 2019. Further new music is planned for release in the near future.
The Real Moon exudes delicacy, it’s a beautiful arrangement – delicate yet emotively illustrious movement. The Real Moon emphasized Barry’s harmonious vocal attributes mixed with bold songwriting leaves this truly captivating single.
Speaking about the track that comes produced by Colin Nealis (Andy Shauf, Aidan Knight), Barry says: “I was spending most of my time alone when I wrote ‘The Real Moon’. The song is about the very modern problem of seeing too much of the world without actually leaving your house. It’s about experiencing the fragility of reality.” The track, that pays homage to Barry’s complex and thoughtful understandings of the world around us evidences her rosewater voice bound by her ability to seamlessly move between folk, country and bedroom-pop.
Barry is one of Atlantic Canada’s surest sirens. Her beguiling voice was first captured on her 2012 debut album, Young Men, a record that caught the attention of national Canadian press, as well as support from CBC radio. Vocal surgery halted Barry’s career between the years of 2015-2017 before a return in 2018 with the single, ‘Roller Disco’ her first release on Forward Music Group. Following previous dates opening for Ron Sexsmith, Jenn Grant and Rose Cousins, Jennah looks set to return to the UK in 2 020.
