UK TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED FOR NOVEMBER
Setting hearts on fire with a string of impressive singles released this year, Sydney duo CLEWS have stepped things up once again sharing their latest offering “New Age”.
A darker take on their intoxicating melange of candied grunge pop “New Age” speaks to the experience of growing up as “a modern girl in a modern world” says Lily Richardson.
“Name one thing I don’t romanticise, You always look away just as I start up again, I laugh at you with my head thrown back, a magazine trick learned years ago”
Speaking on the progression towards “New Age” Lily said: “Hollywood sounded a bit more glittery than what we’ve been doing, and with “New Age” I just really wanted to go back to really, really heavy guitars. It’s a descending riff the whole time. I wanted it to be Queens Of The Stone Age-y.”
No strangers to touring, the Mollymook sisters have an extensive amount of shows under their belt including supports for the likes of Portugal. The Man, Laurel, Albert Hammond Jr. and Ocean Alley. In September of this year CLEWS joined Australian favourites Holy Holy for their Like A Version performance of Lorde’s“Green Light”.
CLEWS are now poised to take their soaring vocal and guitar harmonies to the world with their ‘TheSpooky Pageant Tour’ kicking off this week, as well as announcing a debut UK Tour for November. Fans can also catch CLEWS at Fairgrounds Festival, and on the road with Tash Sultana for her SummerSalt Tour.
