NIGHT HOUSE REVEAL NEW VIDEO FOR SINGLE ‘FIVE YEARS OLD’
Last month we had the pleasure in premiering the new single from the stunning electro-folk outfit Night House.
Five Years Old, was unveiled to the world and released 5th July 2019 via Back In The Woods Records.
Produced and mixed by Dan Brown (Massive Attack, Jerry Williams), the track is a bitter sweet look at childhood summers and past family life. Soaring californian harmonies, washed out guitar and soft strings sections blend with warm 70’s drums, subtle electronic beats and icy synths. Five Years Old dives, twists and turns but all these elements are tied together by lead singer Nick Williams‘ crystal clear pure falsetto vocal.
Five Years Old instantly draws the listener in with its subtle and soothing countryfied instrumentation. Perfected percussion and soaring vocals accompany a flawless and beautifully delicate composition.
A collision of infectious western melodies, expressive and controlled beats/rhythm and sumptuous harmonies. Vocalist Nick Williams’ can be mistaken for the likes of Alexis Taylor crossed with S.Carey. Five Years Old is a vital track to hear- a compelling and vast projection with a story so well told it’s easy to lose yourself within.
Now, Night House have revealed a new music video to accompany the track.
The single needs to be put on repeat so sit back and hit replay on the equally gorgeous visuals. The new video captures footage taken from family holidays in the 90’s. Quintessential and melancholic.
Led by the aforementioned Nick Williams, Night House feature a host of Brighton’s finest musicians with Alfie Weedon (double bass), Amy Squirrell (cello), Andrew Stuart Buttle (violin), Freya Bowes (clarinet), Juan Torán (electric guitar) and James Purvice (drums). Having supported the likes of Ben Howard, Willy Mason and The Magic Numbers,Night House have since gone onto pick up support from tastemakers sites such as Clash Magazine, PRS for Music, The Vinyl District and Come Here Floyd as well as premiering their video for Unfold on Attitude Magazine and To Be With on God is in the TV.
