Mealtime release sharp new single ‘Teef’
The second track from the striking Manchester six-piece
Manchester’s alt-pop six-piece Mealtime contrast dark, atmospheric beats and production with sugary, sweet songwriting on their second single ‘Teef’.
A tantalizing new release from the outfit showcasing the perfect amount of pop, melody, musical hooks and illustrious lyrics/ compelling harmonies. Mealtime are exciting!
Not shying away from pop sensibilities, but instead, pairing them with experimental production values to create something distinctly Mealtime, the band take the elements that made their debut single (and BBC Intro-ducing Manchester favourite) ‘Denim’ work, and push them even further afield.
Going deeper into the track Mealtime say, “Sonically and lyrically, the song showcases a different side to us compared to our debut track ‘Denim’. We mixed up darker, atmospheric beats with sugary sweet songwriting. We wanted the feel like waking up from a deep sleep”.
Following consecutive sold out shows at Manchester’s prestigious Band On The Wall, formidable sets at Bluedot Festival and Dot To Dot, and a live session for BBC Introducing Manchester, Mealtime celebrate the launch of ‘Teef’ with one of their trademark, abrasive dance-pop sets at Hebden Bridge’s beloved Trades Club on the 30th August. The track is set to get it’s Radio 1 debut on Huw Stephens’ show this Sunday. Stay tuned for more new later this year.
