Blushh Releases New Single “July”

Available To Stream and Purchase Now

Los Angeles’ Blushh has just released a new single “July,” available to stream now on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, and everywhere else you stream! Blushh is the fuzzy guitar pop project of songwriter Shab Ferdowsi, now playing with a full backing band. The band will be performing at OffBeat Music Festival in Reno in October. Blushh also released another single “All My Friends” earlier this year on Stereogum. A quote from Shab on “July” can be found below the break.

“You know when you have so much you want to say but hold yourself back until it’s too late? “July” comes from that uneasy, guttural feeling of regret and nostalgia when the last day of summer comes, you realize you’ve been gone too long, and the moment you were waiting for has passed. It’s a cringing feeling disguised in a fun pop song. Hopefully you won’t wait as long as I did to say how you feel.” – Shab Ferdowsi

Biography:Blushh is what you get after your bjillionthth quarter life crisis: when you realize you’ve been sitting in the corner your whole  life watching the party unfold from afar, never saying a word about how you felt, or standing up to grab the last cupcake. Blushh is what you really mean when you shrug it off and say “it’s fine”, when you roll your eyes and deal with it. Blushh is what you’ve been wanting to yell at the top of your lungs, but never had the guts to.

Shab caught the music bug  bouncing around the LA music scene as a show promoter and photographer. She started writing songs in 2015, and decided to start the project thanks to her friends’ encouragement the following year. She bought her first electric guitar in August 2016 and a couple months later she played her first full band show.
The live band has been a revolving lineup of friends, while the project has remained Shab’s  (first) solo foray into songwriting. The band currently consist of Skyler Garn on lead guitar, Kenzo Cardenas on bass and Arturs Reirs on drums.

Over the past two years, Blushh has released two EP’s, It’s Fine and Thx 4 Asking, both produced by Shab’s good  buds Yianni Anastos-Prastacos and Arieh Berl, as well a split EP with Maddie Ross.

During the first few months of 2019, Blushh plans on kicking their touring ambitions into gear. They will be playing SXSW as an official artist, opening for The Joy Formidable at Not So Fun Fest in Dallas, sharing the bill with Toro Y Moi and Liz Phair at Treefort in Boise, Idaho, and opening for Dude York and Partner on a west coast tour that will culminate at Noise Pop Fest in San Francisco. They’ll be eating Taco Bell along the way as they were accepted into Taco Bell’s Feed  the Beat class of fall 2018.

The band has finished recording their first full length album and cannot wait for you to hear it.
