BARS OF GOLD PREMIERE NEW SONG “ATLANTIC CITY”
New Album SHELTERS
Due 12th April On Equal Vision
Detroit based post-rock, indie sextet Bars of Gold unleashed “Atlantic City” today from their upcoming LP SHELTERS. The album, due April 12th via Equal Vision Records, was produced by the band along with Chris Koltay (War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Deerhunter.)
On the track, guitarist Scott Iulianelli shares, “Atlantic City is an unsuspecting pop song made up of seemingly disjointed parts; musically it’s our version of Beefheart’s “Frownland.” Lyrically, it’s about temptation and commitment, a homage to Springsteen. There’s also this weird circular percussion happening that sets the tone for the song and gives the guitars and vocals a platform for weaving in and out of.
Consisting of members of seminal post-hardcore band Bear vs. Shark and Detroit experimental mainstaysWildcatting, Bars of Gold have honed in on their frenetic, guitar-driven post-rock with the addition of a 4th guitarist, John Gaviglio,
