The Essex Green announce European tour this May!

March 10, 2019

The Essex Green are coming to our shores this May. In the band’s own words, “The Essex Green are thrilled to be back in the land of our foremothers. The sandwiches are packed, the tea’s in the flask, we’ve plenty of beer and gooseberry tarts. May there be panic on the streets of Norwich, Glasgow, Manchester and London. Let all the Russians and the Chinese and the Spanish do their fighting, we’re going driving. See you soon!”

UK Tour Dates:
Monday May 6th – Norwich, Bermuda Bob’s.
Wednesday May 8th – Glasgow, Broadcast.
Thursday May 9th – Manchester, Gullivers.
Friday May 10th – London, Redon.

The band’s new album Hardly Electronic was released through Merge last summer and is stacked with harmonies, upbeat melodies telling melancholy tales, layers of keys, and sparkling Telecasters. Their time-honored custom of fusing obsession with spontaneity has been refined through experience and wisdom. As SPIN said “the sunny ’60s-inspired melodies, perfectly sloppy rhythm guitar, singalong harmonies, and buoyant, handclap-friendly beat are all back too.”

Formed in Brooklyn in 1998, The Essex Green (Sasha Bell, Jeff Baron, and Christopher Ziter) released four albums between 1999 and 2006. They became one of the few bands from the Northeast to be associated with the groundbreaking Elephant 6 Collective.

Hardly Electronic was a true team effort, with all songs being written, produced, and recorded by The Essex Green in studios across America, including California, Montana, New York, and Vermont.
