Announces April 2019 UK tour
New album Parallel Universe Blues out now on Slumberland Records
Since emerging in San Francisco’s fertile early-00s indie/folk scene, Papercuts’ Jason Quever has released 5 stellar albums that have become touchstones of quality modern pop. His latest album Parallel Universe Blues reflects Quever’s recent move from long-time musical home San Francisco to Los Angeles and all of the searching and self-exploration that accompanies leaving your home, your friends and your scene.
Today he announces a European tour for March and April 2019 supporting Matador‘s singer-songwriter Steve Gunn, featuring UK shows in London, Birmingham, Leeds andManchester. Full dates are as follows:

Papercuts’ new album Parallel Universe Blues has a sound that is intimate and close, nicely balancing the sonic concerns of the last few Papercuts records: perfect Spectorian pop songs echoed down through The Velvet Underground, LA’s Paisley Underground, Spiritualized and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Songs like “Laughing Man,” “How To Quit Smoking,” “Sing To Me Candy” and “Clean Living” are all gorgeous, melodic gems, never sacrificing song-writing for atmospherics and bringing to mind late night/rainy day albums like “Darklands” and “Chelsea Girl.”Parallel Universe Blues is a triumph and points to more great things in the future from Quever and Papercuts.
