An Horse’s debut album Rearrange Beds, originally released on Mom + Pop, received critical acclaim upon release in 2009, leading them to tour with Tegan and Sara, Death Cab for Cutie, Silversun Pickups, Nada Surf, Cage the Elephant, and more. Released digitally and on CD in its original release, the album has never been pressed to vinyl. The first Lame-O Records pressing is limited to 1,200 copies, including a 100 copy exclusive splatter variant and a 300 copy white vinyl variant.
A quote from singer/guitarist Kate Cooper on the vinyl reissue can be found below.
“It’s hard to get my head around the fact that our first album is 10 years old. It feels like it’s from another lifetime and essentially it is. Damon and I both working in the same record store, bored out of our brains in hot, humid Brisbane, desperately wanting to make music. Getting alternate shifts at work because the boss said we talked too much. And we did talk too much, and we didn’t work that much.
We talked about music and records and touring and how we both wanted nothing more than to see the world and play everywhere. We didn’t understand why our other friends were growing up, selling their guitars and settling down. We hadn’t even begun yet. We had no idea what this record would do to our lives. We had no idea that closing the shop early to set up the shop’s instore PA system to write songs would would alter our lives irreversibly.
I try not to think about it all too much. It’s too heady. The fact that Damon and I even found each other is crazy. The fact that anyone still listens is even crazier to me.” – Kate Cooper

The heart of An Horse’s magic is rubbery and elastic. Rows of slinky, hypnotic spirals, widening middle-out. Loosely from wherever-you’re-seeing-them-play-tonight-by-way-of-Brisbane-to-Montreal-and-New-York, Kate & Damon woke up from a six-year nap in 2018 with a new tour and new song “Get Out Somehow.”
Before their 6 year break, An Horse were 2 albums into their career and touring non-stop with the likes of Tegan and Sara, Death Cab for Cutie, Silversun Pickups, Nada Surf, Cage the Elephant, and Brand New when a series of distracting life events forced them into a hiatus of sorts. That hiatus led to an extended break from touring and recording that’s finally ending with a new release
