Para Alta unveil new track ‘Turn The Lights Out’
FFO The War On Drugs, Manic Street Preachers
Para Alta are back with new smooth anthem Turn The Lights Out, a laid-back drive of harmonious guitars and sun-kissed rhythm that in turn contrasts with a theme of heartbreak and internal turmoil.
Lead singer Jonny Bee said; “Turn the Lights Out’ is a song that expresses the incompatibility of two lovers in a relationship that’s on its way out. The lyrics came to me when I was out surfing one morning, the sun was beaming over the choppy waves and it created this natural yin-yang effect. It was a really humbling moment that influenced the theme of the song.”
This single follows a summer release on Big Indie (Yolk Lore, Superego), but finds the boys back home on the Kissability label (Courtney Barnett, Circa Waves) where they released their debut single I Get Mine in 2016. Since then the Hartlepool heartbreakers have played shows with the likes of Gengahr and Plaza, moved to East London and almost lost a finger to a false widow, and were awarded the PRSF flash vinyl funding at this year’s Great Escape.
Para Alta will release a 12” retrospective titled ‘Greatest Hits 2016-2019’ in March supported by PRSF, Key Productions, Metropolis Studios and Music Glue.
Para Alta are Jonny Bee (guitar/vocals), Luke Cowley (guitar), Sonny Williamson (bass), and Tommy Sotheran (drums). Previous support has come from Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1), John Kennedy (Radio X), Maz Tappuni (Radio X), DIY Magazine, Apple Music, Spotify, The Line Of Best Fit, Bob Fisher (BBC Tees Introducing), Frankie Francis (Amazing Radio) and Clash.
