First UK tour in 5 years
starts next month!

Next month Robyn Hitchcock’s UK tour kicks off in support of his 21st studio album which came out last year and is the highest charting album of Robyn’s career. The first two shows in Manchester and London see Robyn performing with his band, “His LA Squires”. The band first came together in April last year with a performance at Los Angeles’ Troubadour. Luther Russell, takes duties as the second guitar player, Tony Buchen, comes in on bass guitar, and Robyn is reunited with Mark “Empire” Sheppard who first played with him in London in 1982.

Says Robyn… “London and Manchester! 40 glorious years of my song from Cambridge to Nashville rocked your way by me and my band, the LA Squires. These are my first electric shows in Britain for 5 years and will be followed by a string of solo dates; the first since 2015. Be there or beware!“

The latest album entitled, Robyn Hitchcock was recorded in Nashville with producer Brendan Benson and backing from some of Music City’s finest pickers and players, among them guitarist Annie McCue, steel guitarist Russ Pahl, bassist Jon Estes, and drummer Jon Radford. Harmony vocal contributions come courtesy of Grant-Lee Phillips, Gillian Welch, Pat Sansone (Wilco, The Autumn Defense), and singer/songwriter Emma Swift.
