Boston-based indie faves Buffalo Tom have announced a string of dates including three shows in the UK as part of their European tour at the end of the year (see full dates below and here). They’ll start at The Fleece in Bristol on 4 December, followed by The Electric Ballroom in London on 5 December and finishing up at Birmingham‘s Institute 2 on 6 December.
They recently released their acclaimed new album Quiet and Peace which received accolades from the likes of Q, Uncut and Record Collector, with Mojo describing the album as “the golden sound of a band in their element.”
They have also confirmed the release of a limited edition 7″ single for Record Store Day 2018 on 21 April featuring covers of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Only Living Boy In New York” b/w The Who’s “The Seeker.” You can watch the video for “The Only Living Boy In New York”
Quiet and Peace is a compelling 11-song set that finds the trio—singer-guitarist Bill Janovitz, bassist-vocalist Chris Colbourn and drummer Tom Maginnis—simultaneously mining their best-known sonic elements while breaking new ground on emotionally resonant new tunes such as “All Be Gone,” “Roman Cars,” “Freckles” and “CatVMouse.” Buffalo Tom’s first collection since 2011’s Skins,Quiet and Peace was mixed by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth, The Hold Steady) and marks the band’s first collaboration with producer and fellow Boston alt-rock legend David Minehan, renowned ex-leader of the Neighborhoods.
