Orellana Releases New Album Titled ’52’

At the tail end of 2017, a new album from composer Martyn Jackson was unveiled and released to the world under the moniker of Orellana. On December 28th, Orellana officially released a stand out record which is available as a free download and available to stream and own now.

This stunning new record is the first from Martyn since the release of his debut album ‘Home‘ under his personal name back in 2014. 4 years ago we first introduced you to the sounds of Martyn, a truly compelling artist who fuses post-rock inspirations with his own touch. Back then we stated the instrumental unsigned artist is a must hear for anyone who loves Explosions in the Sky, This Will Destroy You and Sigur Rós. Fast forward to now and we stand by this.

During the years, Martyn has recognised his compositional style has evolved the new release under the name of Orellana is a truly breath-taking progression. He comments “my compositional style has changed from the standard 4 piece Post-Rock band, to a blend of piano lead cinematic and orchestral sounds. My experiences over the past few years has also lead me to take great interest in the natural world, and so “52” tells the story of The Loneliest Whale in the World, and its search for a family and companionship. It is my soundtrack to an imagined film, and a situation we can all relate to; being alone and calling out for loved ones only to be left unheard.”

The new 8 track album is a triumphant post-rock album. Orellana has unleashed an epic and powerful thought- provoking timeless creation with ’52‘. As with any release within a similar genre, it’s best enjoyed in full as the record develops throughout each composition, extraordinary cinematic landscapes and rich textures from the get-go.
