Nottingham Doom Rockers Dystopian Future Movies Unveil New Video
Today we’re extremely honoured to be exclusively premiering the new video from Nottingham doom rockers, the ever promising Dystopian Future Movies.
Fortunate Ones is taken from the debut album ‘Time’, out now on Oak Island Records and is a prequel to the previous single ‘Pieces’. Both videos were directed by Tom Walsh (www.tomwalshfilm.com) as he continues a narrative that runs backwards through time – the trilogy will be completed later this year.

Fortunate Ones hypnotises you from the get go with the monolithic groove and their entire deliverance tempered by an even darker psychedelic perspective.  Fortunate Ones perfectly captures Dystopian Future Moves utopian distorted raucous noise, the experimental musicians’ have made their own sound accessible and incredibly attentive.

Back in June, our own Sarah Layreviewed their album and mentioned that Dystopian Future Moves describe themselves as sitting in the ‘dark place between Neurosis and Chelsea Wolfe’ there are certainly elements of post- and math-rock in the mix present, along with occasional flurries of post-metal and even melodic but heavy grindcore. There’s Russian Circles, My Bloody Valentine, 18th Dye, The Winter Passing all seeping through the sound but even when it’s brutally, relentlessly heavy it is never less than beautifully and hauntingly melodic.

Dystopian Future Movies are set to take their folk-infused post-rock doomscapes on tour across the UK in February 2018, with a new four-piece line up and support from grunge / psych / fuzz merchants Soden.
