Following sell out shows in London and Manchester, and fresh from the release of his third studio album, White Noise, modern folk-rocker Noah Gundersenannounces his new single Number One Hit Of The Summer (Fade Out). Gundersen will also be bringing his unique blend of psychedelic Americana to European shores for a fourteen-date tour in March 2018, starting with a show at The Borderline in London.

White Noise introduces a powerful new sonic direction for an artist known for a more melancholic, acoustic sound. Electronic experimentation and an added political bite to Gundersen’s lyrics herald a richly sophisticated direction for the young Seattle native: “White Noise is a sensory overload,” Gundersen explains, “fear, anxiety, desire, sex, lust, love… It’s a car crash, it’s a drowning, it’s everything all the time.” Gundersen has matured from a bittersweet adolescence into something more profound: a dark prophet for a poisoned Arcadia.

Dropping 10th November, upcoming single Number One Hit Of The Summer (Fade Out) perfectly articulates Gundersen’s artistic vision – a gonzo American road trip painted in sun-drenched Californian guitars and smooth vocals. “Is this the good life you were imagining?” Noah asks, “Tied up and tired of everything.” The upbeat indie-pop vibe of the single is struck through with subtle discordances, like blood in the water. Playing with genre and sound in a manner reminiscent of Thom Yorke and Kurt Vile, Number One Hit Of The Summer (Fade Out) is an intoxicating blend of youthful frustration and euphoric release, from an artist at the peak of his abilities.
