AHEAD OF HEADLINE SHOW AT THE WINDMILL IN BRIXTON ON 30TH NOVEMBER
“GROUNDS have broken out crazy infectious riffs for their hook-filled new single” – Dork
“GROUNDS are part of a new wave of energy in London’s guitar underground, a network of bands, daydreamers, promoters, ‘zines, and a whole lot more.” – Clash
London riffers GROUNDS have shared the video to their brand new single ‘Suck It Up’, filled with moreish bass lines, heavy riffs and an addictive chorus. Of the song, Bertie (guitar, vocals) says, “The song’s about getting your shit together and not acting like an eejit. I suppose you could call it a love song”. The video sees the riffers going hard in front of projection of themselves drinking, and spilling, milk. ‘Suck It Up’ is available on all digital streaming site here.
The band will be playing a headline show at The Windmill in Brixton on the 30th November in support of ‘Suck It Up’:
Thursday 30th November – The Windmill, Brixton, London
GROUNDS are fast-rising London-based riffers who create heavy, hooky tracks. The trio are all about the sound that you can only get when jamming three instruments loudly in a small practise room, which comes to life like no other when playing live.
In a time when bands are using sample replacements to clean up their production, GROUNDS have gone the opposite way, channelling influences Dinosaur Pile-Up, Mclusky and Nirvana by recording a raw, live sound that’s delivered with plenty of aggro.
The band are currently making a name for themselves playing in London’s sweatbox venues like the Old Blue Last, The Victoria, Brixton Windmill, Luna in Leytonstone and The Black Heart in Camden, playing alongside acts such as Thee MVP’s, Nervus,Paceshifters and Piano Wire. With a sound this blistering, they won’t be staying underground for long.
GROUNDS are Bertie (guitar/vocals), Louis Dale (drums) and Charlie Robery (bass).
