SHARE TWO NEW INSTRUMENTALS: ‘THREE MOVES’ + ‘CARRIAGES’
+ ANNOUNCE SHOW AT RYE WAX, PECKHAM ON 28TH NOVEMBER
“Off kilter songwriting rattles together challenging electronics and moments of whimsical pop.” –Clash Magazine
“[A] distinctive take on electronic music… impresses with its subtle evolution” – For The Rabbits
“Dark, brilliant and brooding.” – Charlie Ashcroft, Amazing Radio
Yours share two brand new instrumentals: ‘Three Moves Ago’ and ‘Carriages’, the latter already a firm staple in their fervent live sets. Yours provide the soundtrack to both an escape from, and a celebration of, the present.
The duo have also announced a London show in support of the new release:
28th November – Rye Wax, Peckham w/ Acre Tarn and Ben Fehr & Liam Cutler.
Yours’ synthetic and organic instrumentation, hypnotic vocals and dance-led influences capture the slow-building sense of anxiety and stasis they have found in adulthood; pitted against the unrewarding escapism of on demand viewing and the endless scroll of social media. Intimate yet hopeful, their songs confront this unease, not retreating from the gloom. Created over late nights and during lunch breaks, they were written quietly. Slowly. They act as a channel for their present day frustrations.
Yours are London-based electronic two-piece, Joe Edwards and James Melaugh.
Three Moves Ago // Carriages is self-released via Tiny Hits and is available on all digital streaming platforms here: http://smarturl.it/YoursThreeMovesAgo
