Escape-ism (Ian Svenonius)
Unveils “Iron Curtain” music video
European dates announced
Solo album, Introduction to Escape-ism
Released 10th November on Merge Records
Behold: Ian Svenonius has shared the first Escape-ism music video from his appropriately titled solo debut, Introduction to Escape-ism, out November 10 on Merge Records. Directed by Ukrainian illustrator Dana Kosmina, the video depicts scattered religious and militant imagery across a vast brutalist landscape and premiered on The Quietus.
The music video comes alongside news of Escape-ism tours on both sides of the Atlantic, European and UK dates can be found below.
Introduction to Escape-ism is a bite into a one-banana bunch. A drum box, a guitar, a cassette player, and a single slobbering, sinful voice singing out…for a way out. Live, it’s a new paradigm of performance: raw, gestural, idiotic, sublime, revolutionary, poetic, faux naïf, unknowing, a drainage pipe that leads to who knows where.
Pre-order Introduction to Escape-ism now on CD and limited-edition white vinyl in the Merge store, or via one of these digital providers. All physical orders will include an Escape-ism button, while supplies last.
