A Giant Dog take you on a
“Roller Coaster” ride before
Toy hits shelves on August 25

With the August 25 release of Toy right around the corner, Texas troublemakers A Giant Dog have blessed us with “Roller Coaster,” another fantastic peek inside their new album. While the song deviates from the speedy rhythms of previous singles “Bendover” and “Photograph,” it does so without losing an ounce of energy, thanks in part to a guest appearance by fellow Austinite Britt Daniel of Spoon.
“Roller Coaster” is our song about gripping onto your sanity. The lyrics liken losing one’s mind to being stopped upside-down on a rollercoaster, grasping, white-knuckled, afraid to look down and lose grip. In composition, the song feels like a rollercoaster, climbing at a slow tick, building tension before reaching the top and going into full free fall at the bridge.
In case you missed ’em, check out the explosive video for “Bendover” and fall in love with “Photograph” before pre-ordering Toy on CD and lipstick-red vinyl in the Merge store (with a T-shirt bundle option), or via these digital music providers.
