Lawrence, KS Duo Arc Flash Share “Divination” via Clrvynt

Lawrence, Kansas duo Arc Flash are set to release Carbon Copy, their explosive full length debut on March 31st via High Dive Records (The Conquerors, Rooftop Vigilantes, Psychic Heat) and today they are sharing the record’s latest single, “Divination”. The duo of Mark Rockwell (drums) and James Thomblison (guitar/vocals) who also play in garage psych band Psychic Heat, have been generating a buzz throughout the scene thanks to endlessly energetic shows and their own unique brand of “space punk” and “mutant pop” intensity. Built on blistering punk energy, infectious hooks, and raw fuzz riffs, the band’s sound is as sonically pleasing as it is aggressively catchy.
CLRVYNT introduced Arc Flash as “two Kansas cosmonauts who, as the band’s name suggests, sling incendiary, freewheeling fuzz-punk” before elaborating on “Divination” and the band’s fiery nature. “Beware of high voltage, heavy riffs and catchy hooks — just don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

Arc Flash mixes the abrasive with the undeniably catchy to create music that can transfix even the shortest of attention spans. Blistering without repelling, the duo mixes punk, noise, surf, and pop into music that is both fun and visceral. The sound is taut without losing its carefree feel. Equally comfortable in a moldy basement as an elegant hall, Arc Flash makes any environment their own (keep an eye out for roving gangs of masked sci-fi hooligans). Like the electrical phenomena for which it is named, Arc Flash is unpredictable and bombastic.
