Philadelphia’s Modern Baseball announced a spring headlining US tour today, with support from Kevin Devine, Sorority Noise and The Obsessives (all tour dates below). Tickets for all shows will be on-sale to the general public this Friday, January 6th at 12pm EST but limited pre-sale tickets for the shows are now available at http://modernbaseball.shofetti.com.
Modern Baseball released their latest LP Holy Ghost this May to widespread acclaim from The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, MTV, Boston Globe, Stereogum, The Guardian, Consequence of Sound, Alternative Press, AV Club, SPIN and numerous other publications of note. The band have spent the past several months touring the world in support of the newest album, including appearances at Lollapalooza, Reading and Leeds, and Falls Fest. Holy Ghost was included on a variety of year end lists including Noisey, Stereogum, Fader, A.V. Club, SPIN, The Observer, Diffuser, BrooklynVegan, Bandcamp, Uproxx, Alternative Press and more.
Modern Baseball is Jacob Ewald (guitar/vocals), Brendan Lukens (guitar/vocals), Ian Farmer (bass) and Sean Huber (drums). Holy Ghost was recorded by Joe Reinhart (Hop Along, Joyce Manor) at Headroom Studios in Philadelphia.

Kevin Devine will be touring on his 2016 release Instigator, out now on Procrastinate! Music Traitors. Instigator was Devine’s 9th studio record and his most critically acclaimed to date. The record peaked at #20 on Billboard’s Alternative Album charts, and Noisey named it #45 on their Top 100 Albums of 2016 calling it a “relentless assault of catchy hooks” as well as “timely and important.”

Sorority Noise will release their highly anticipated follow up to their break out album Joy, Departed on Triple Crown Records this spring. Joy, Departed gained notoriety for speaking out against the trend of romanticizing sadness, instead committing to an open and real depiction of mental illness. Pitchfork called the album “sophisticated, confident, well-produced and also more vertiginous in all aspects.”

The Obsessives recently announced the release of their sophomore record The Obsessives, coming out on Lame-O Records on March 17th. The album volleys between the expressive texture of emo bands like Braid and the bouncy indie of bands like The Pixies and Violent Femmes.
