It’s that time once again, as the countdown to the end of 2016 quickly approaches we take a personal look back on familiar names, features and musicians’ best releases of the past 12 months. In what has been a crazy year of highs and lows it’s the releases that have pulled a lot of people through the year. Now in it’s 6th year, Circuit Sweet will be hosting takeovers from the featured artists/musicians/labels and promoters of the site with their personal top 5 releases of the year.
Kick starting our annual end of year tradition we let our favourites take over the site to tell us the records that have made their end of year lists, their favourite events/gigs and what we can look forward to from them next year.

Our next Rad Releases is a special take over from a new, upcoming and extremely promising label AM 800 Sound. AM 800 Sound, is a new independent music collective founded by members of Signal Hill, No Grave Like the Sea, and Katmai- this year has been one incredible journey for this label and we have been thrilled to see their plans and vision grow, as has their fanbase! We hand over to the label to find out more about their first year and their most loved releases.

In celebration of a successful launch and productive couple of seasons releasing, we gathered our time and resources to orchestrate the first in a series of live performances featuring artists from this collective and others we love and are close with.
Live at Matchless Bar in Brooklyn, NY, the AM 800 Sound Showcase 1 was held on Friday November 11th 2016. The evening featured performances by Katmai, Hotel Neon, No Grave Like The Sea (complete with a full horn section and keyboard/synthesizer), and Signal Hill, who were able to coordinate the full band from far and wide around the globe
The evening was an even greater response than originally anticipated, with full capacity reached, free silk-screened show posters given away, and some proceeds of merch sales donated to the SPLC, ACLU, and L&LS. It was the most fun and love we could have possibly asked for, and can’t wait to host another in 2017.
