Kan Wakan is Gueorgui Linev, the producer, film composer, synthesizer scientist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose full-length debut ‘Moving On,’ dissolves the genre-breaking electronica of Massive Attack, Air and Zero 7 into a bottomless sea of 20th century minimalism, psychedelic soul and ambient atmosphere.

‘I Would’ starts off in a floating reverie, the much anticipated follow up to ‘Molasses’ which reached #2 on Hype Machine and is garnering significant praise and airplay across the globe. ‘I Would’ and ‘Molasses’ set the stage for Kan Wakan’s sophomore triple-LP ‘Phantasmagoria’ which will feature multiple guest vocalists, expanding on Kan Wakan’s highly acclaimed debut ‘Moving On,’ which was mentioned in countless Best of Year lists.

This is shaping up to be a busy period for the LA-based, Bulgarian musician who was recently named in the LA Weekly as “One Of The Top 10 Young Songwriters In Los Angeles”. The month will include the world premiere of his debut film score, for the feature film ‘Dead Draw’ (starring Gil Bellows, Michael Eklund, and Elizabeth Tulloch), at the San Diego Film Festival, as well as the release of Moses Sumney’s ‘Lamentations’ which will feature a track produced by Gueorgui Linev.
