AIDAN KNIGHT
SMALL REVEAL

OUT 7TH OCTOBER ON FULL TIME HOBBY
Aidan Knight’s music arrived officially on European shores for the first time in January 2016, in the form of the expansive, accomplished songwriting and dynamic musicianship heard on the Each Other LP. In his native Canada, this work was preceded by Small Reveal, on which Knight and band expanded on their early promise. They build on their foundations with post-rock instrumental sections sitting alongside horn and string arrangements, making this a cohesive, fully-realised sound with far-reaching influences, which recalls Elliott Smith in places and Mogwai in others.
Full Time Hobby are delighted to be giving this record the first European release it deserves – available on 7th October 2016, on limited white vinyl, CD and digital download.
Anyone who has seen Knight perform will undoubtedly remember the elegiac Margaret Downe. An unforgettable staple of his live set and centerpiece of Small Reveal, no track better demonstrates Knight’s power to move with his songwriting. This 5-minute song tells a story spanning a lifetime, and Knight’s gift for giving his characters so much depth with so few words is a rare one. Knight says of the song, and character, “’Margaret Downe’ is someone special. She came out of nowhere”.
Work of this high caliber is found from start to finish on Small Reveal. For fans of Each Other, Small Reveal will only reinforce the impression that Aidan Knight is one of the most compelling artists to emerge this year.
Each Other, recorded with The National, Local Natives and Arcade Fire collaborator Marcus Paquin was made BBC 6 Music’s album of the day, and received strong reviews from Uncut, Mojo, Loud and Quiet and Clash amongst others. The release was backed up by a busy touring schedule for Knight and band. They supported Villagers on a UK run, and Half Moon Run on a long tour across Europe and the UK, culminating in a date at London’s Roundhouse. Festival season saw them playing shows at Glastonbury, Bestival and Port Eliot.
Praise For Each Other:

“Another scion of Canada’s alt-royalty…” – Q Magazine – 4/5
“Darkly magnetic” – MOJO
