NEW TRACK ‘KARMA SEEKER’

‘KARMA SEEKER’ EP to follow on August 5th

Forthcoming festival dates include Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds

“They’re incredible live, really exciting to watch and they just craft these perfect rock and roll songs, with huge hooks, that you can’t get out of your head.” – Annie Mac, Radio 1

“Channel the likes of Pixies, the Manics, the Strokes and the Vines with such brio and menace that resistance seems futile.” – The Sunday Times

“The sort of glammy, bushy-tailed fuzz-pop that Supergrass first Chopper biked into the public consciousness with.” – Q

“The hype is real with these guys.” – DIY

“Sound like the MC5 warring with DFA 1979.” – NME

“The band cut a swagger that could’ve been perfected during the garage rock revival of the early 2000s, but play with an energy and looseness that you might expect to find in the pop punk scene.” – Clash

After almost 2.5 million plays on Spotify, a sold-out NME Awards show, and a co-headline slot on the DIY Presents Tour,VANT’s ascending profile will be boosted throughout the summer with landmark festival dates including Glastonbury,Reading and Leeds. Their repeated support from Radio 1 also continues with the news that their new single ‘KARMA SEEKER’ (impacts August 5th) has just been named as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World.

‘KARMA SEEKER’ blends gritty loud-quiet-loud dynamics with a surfeit of melody and Mattie Vant’s raw and impassioned vocal attack. It adds another dimension to a varied discography – ‘PARASITE’, ‘DO YOU KNOW ME?’, ‘THE ANSWER’,‘PARKING LOT’ and ‘FLY-BY ALIEN’that moves at ease between punk, grunge and garage rock. Regardless of the genre, their songs are socially aware remedies to the ignorance of most modern consumerist pop music.

“Karma Seeker is our most philosophical song to date,” says Mattie Vant. “It queries the meaning of life and champions the idea of enjoying the present rather than always looking towards the future. I know what it means to me, but I’m really interested to hear how other people interpret it as there are plenty of theories waiting to be discussed, just like the meaning of life…”

‘KARMA SEEKER’ is now available as a single-track download. Two further formats will follow on August 5th: the b-side of the 7” vinyl adds the jangly indie rush of ‘WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF BERNERS LEE’ and the ferocious 22 second blast that is ‘BRIBE ME TO MY GRAVE’; while the digital EP compiles ‘KARMA SEEKER’, ‘…BERNERS LEE’, ‘JESUS WAS A CONMAN’ and ‘BIRTH CERTIFICATE’, which has proved to be a fan favourite atVANT’s fiery live shows.

This summer sees VANT hitting a variety of Britain’s biggest festivals, with Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, T in the Parkand Bestival all on the agenda. Having previously played shows with the likes of Royal Blood, Hinds and FIDLAR, they’ll also join Catfish and The Bottlemen at their sold-out 8,000-capacity show at the Castlefield Bowl.
