“This video is based on the real life events of our producer Jon Drew breaking his arm skateboarding with me in that very same pool! Also, Emmett dislocated his big toe while we were shooting the video, so we got to stop in at the emergency room again. Truth be told, the toe popped out while we were playing basketball, we decided to take a break because shooting was going so smoothly.

THPS 2 is the greatest video game of all time, I only ever played as Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska and Spider-Man, Auto-kick off.” – Mike Warne

“This was mountains of fun to shoot. Thats really what we wanted to do here, express the sheer joy that skateboarding brings even when you’re terrible at it. All of us played a butt-load of thps2 in our youths and we always got a false sense of talent from stringing together mega-combos in that game. When you actually get the drive to head outside and step on your skateboard you realize it’s not so much like riding a bike, it’s a skill you have to constantly nurture. Heading into our 30’s we have multiple wake up calls that reveal your body’s age, there’s a new crop of young kids who are just pushing skateboarding further and further, but the best part about skateboarding is you are always part of the family regardless of whether or not you can do any tricks… Unless you’re a longboarder, thats not skateboarding.” – Kyle McCreight

And to think it all started with a Craigslist ad. Mike Warne (vocals, guitar) poster a call for band auditions, and only one person responded; a lone musician performing in a TV theme song cover band who played a mean version of the Pokemon intro. Naturally, Mike had to have him over to audition. His first meeting with Ryan McKinley (guitar, vocals) turned into a night of drinking cheap bottles of wine on Mike’s roof, and not playing any music. As the newfound friendship blossomed over a love of drinking, the band began to take shape. Soon after came Emmett O’Reilly (bass and vocals) and Dave Laino (drums and vocals) who also fit the bill.

PKEW PKEW PKEW are four guys from stupid-small towns in Southern Ontario who have travelled around playing shows in even more stupid-small towns and then some big cities too. Their forthcoming self-titled debut record (due out June 10th 2016 via Royal Mountain Records) is a raucous 21 minutes of punky frat boy party anthems that are made for the mosh-pit. Recorded by Jon Drew (Fucked Up, Tokyo Police Club), Ryan Mall (Gaslight Anthem, The Bouncing Souls) and mastered by Dave Gardner (The Hold Steady, Dillinger Four), Pkew Pkew Pkew is a dizzying eleven song anthology that blasts through themes of failure, nostalgia, growing up, staying young and getting really, really, really drunk.

The four-piece have crushed beers and shared stages with a lot of cool bands including Diarrhea Planet, FIDLAR, The Hold Steady, Pup, and Titus Andronicus. Pkew Pkew Pkew will be heading out on tour with PUP this Spring.
