New album, Brilliant Sanity, out now via Moshi Moshi
Having just released their acclaimed new album, Brilliant Sanity, on Moshi Moshi, Teleman unveil the new video for the hook-laden, joyful stomper, Glory Hallelujah. The video was created by the band’s Jonny Saunders on their recent European tour.
Jonny says of it, “A couple of weeks before leaving for tour we realised we needed to make a video so we took a camera with us and made one while we were away. Trying to avoid the usual ‘tour diary’ clichés we filmed something that looked nice and captured a feel of some of the places we went to. However the most used shot was from a dug up car park somewhere off the motorway in northern France when we broke down: Tom’s glasses with me and Pete dancing in the reflection.”

Brilliant Sanity, the follow-up to Teleman’s acclaimed debut, Breakfast, was written in their Homerton studio and recorded in South London with producer, Dan Carey (Bat for Lashes, Kate Tempest, Nick Mulvey).
The art of songwriting has been the driving force behind Brilliant Sanity, the process of crafting of the immaculate pop song, the dogged pursuit of the perfect hook. The result is an album that appears fastidiously and impeccably made, but also charged with joy.
Now a four-piece made up of singer and guitarist Tommy Sanders, his brother Jonny on synths, Pete Cattermoul on bass and Hiro Amamiya on drums, the process of touring has honed Teleman into a spectacular live act and brought about the decision to record the new record in a very live and spontaneous way.
Praise for Brilliant Sanity:
‘an excellent second album’ – The Guardian: 4*
‘a wonderful second album […], an excellent follow-up’ – Q: 4*s – lead review
‘a structurally savvy set stuffed with impeccably wrought pop hooks. […] Teleman now stand alongside Metronomy, Field Music and Dutch Uncles in the smart pop ranks, yet sound unlike any of them. Neat trick.’ – Uncut: 4*
‘synth-pop at its most intentionally infectious’ – DIY 4*: lead review
‘as fresh as it is reminiscent, as catchy as it is challenging and thoughtful’ – The Line of Best Fit
‘Eleven tracks of purely exquisite pop music.’ – Louder Than War
Brilliant Sanity is available on CD, LP and Digital. Purchase the album HERE.
