CUMBRIAN PUNKS COLT 45 RELEASE ‘I REMEMBER WHEN THE RAIN CAME DOWN’ AS CHARITY SINGLE TO RAISE MONEY FOR LOCAL FLOOD VICTIMS

JANUARY 2016 UK TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED
w/ SUPPORT FROM FAUX

Following the devastating floods that have recently hit the region – creating chaos for thousands of residents Cumbrian punks COLT 45 have announced they will release their track ‘I Remember When The Rain Came Down’ as acharity single to raise money for those affected via the Cumbria Flood Appeal.

You can purchase the track here immediately or donate directly to the Cumbria Flood Appeal charity via Just Giving. All profits from the sale of Downloads of the track will be donated to the Cumbria Flood Appeal.

The band are also pleased to announce they will hit the road on tour in January 2016 with support from FAUX for a short run of UK headline dates – full details below.

The official flood appeal, launched to raise funds to support the individuals and communities devastated by Storm Desmond, has already more than £1 million and was started by the Cumbria Community Foundation, which frequently raises money for local causes. The purported aim of the fund-raising was to reach £1m, but now the target has been increased to £3m.

In an official statement the band comment; “We’ve all been affected by the terrible floods in Cumbria previously in 2005 and 2009 and now, again, right before Christmas this year. The community spirit here in Carlisle and Workington has been amazing – everyone’s helping each other out with the clean-up, sorting through destroyed possessions and trying to prepare for as normal a Christmas as possible. We’ve been lucky this time to not be directly hit ourselves, and our rehearsal room just about survived, but we have close family & friends whose homes & belongings have been destroyed – some for the second or third time in 10 years.“

“We want to do what we can for the Cumbria Flood Appeal and this track (‘I Remember When The Rain Came Down’ from our debut album, The Tide Is Turning) is all about the effect of the 2009 floods on our community, so it seems quite appropriate to make this our download to help raise some funds for our friends & neighbours this time around. We can only hope that these sorts of situations can be prevented better in future – we all know Cumbria gets its fair share of crap weather, but our thoughts are with everyone affected by the awful storms and we send our best wishes to everyone for a quick recovery and a decent Christmas – good luck.”

Recently winning national plaudits from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine, Rock Sound,Big Cheese Magazine, BBC Radio One and more, COLT 45 are a testament to the phrase “substance over style”. Merging heartfelt, small-town frustration with melodic punk anthems and contagious hooks, the trio have worked their way up by gigging relentlessly. They have become pioneers for the modest Cumbrian rock scene, having recently toured Germany for the first time, have just completed a tour with The Computers,  and are gathering an impressive set of notches on the touring and festival posts. More live dates and brand new material are in the works for 2016.
