JP Cooper Takes On Original Penguin’s #PluggedIn60 Series

November 23, 2015

Some artists have a knack of connecting to raw human emotion, and this trait undeniably sits at the core of JP Cooper‘s sound.

One of 2015’s most intriguing releases so far, Cooper’s major label debut EP ‘Keep The Quiet Out’ cemented his place as a future icon, possessing sublime emotional depth and a remarkable sense of approachability, something common in the folk world but rarely harnessed to its true potential.

Building an unspoken connection with his fans while steadily rising up through the ranks, from sweaty clubs to festival main stages, the dreadlocked troubadour is another figurehead for true originality, which is exactly why Original Penguin wanted Cooper for #PluggedIn60 series.

Selling out a string of London dates and hitting the road hard this year, Cooper took time away from a hectic festival season earlier this year to speak to Original Penguin, discussing the impact the 1990’s had on his life and music.
