WEATHERSTATE – new EP ‘Dumbstruck’ set for release 22nd Jan, 2016
Music video for single ‘ILL

(Failure By Design Records)

Pre-orders (with instant download of ‘ILL’):

Bristol-based four-piece Weatherstate will release their new five-rack EP via Failure By Design Records on 22nd Jan, 2016. The first single to be taken from the release is ‘ILL’ – a punk-fuelled tune, driven by the punchiest of riffs. Vocalist / guitarist Harry Hoskins explains its concept “The song is about being deluded, and feeling that everything is just gonna magically fall in to place. Fundamentally trying to kid yourself that you’ve got things under control when the reality is you need to sort your shit out.”

‘Dumbstruck’ deals with the mindset you have when you’re stuck between being a kid and being an adult and the angst that comes along with that. There are references to self-criticism, anxiety about the future, working at a mindless job and seeking escapism from it all.

Weatherstate have been making 2015 a busy year for themselves. Recently signing to Failure By Design Records and getting regular airtime on Kerrang! Radio, they’ve toured with Trash Boat as well as sharing the stages with Creeper, Milk Teeth, Decade, Homebound and many others. Singled out as a band to keep your eye on by the likes of Punktastic and Already Heard, their new EP sees Weatherstate taking further influence from 90’s Punk Rock in a bold aggressive move.
