New single, “Things Were Happening And They Were Strange”
To Be Released on November 13th
Play Union Chapel’s Daylight Music on November 14th (afternoon show)

Haiku Salut round off a triumphant year with the release of “Things Were Happening And They Were Strange”, the third single to be taken from their critically acclaimed second album, Etch And Etch Deep.

The second Haiku Salut song to feature vocals, “Things Were Happening And They Were Strange” uses looped ukuleles, treated synths, tribal drums and the wordless cries and screams of Gemma Barkerwood to create a dramatic, claustrophobic, thrilling mini movie.

Released on July 31st, Etch And Etch Deep received a host of extremely positive reviews. The album was awarded four stars or above by The Observer (“the album Four Tet might have made after Rounds’), The Guardian, Mojo, Uncut (“both warmly familiar and completely, fearlessly new”), NME, Clash, Drowned In Sound (“with luminous vibes and electronics that chime, strum, sparkle, dance and glow, the trio evoke worlds within our own”), The Financial Times, God Is In The TV, Gig Soup (“one has to wonder if the band haven’t only created a masterpiece but also a genre that is their own”), The 405,  London In Stereo, The Skinny, and many more.

Haiku Salut play the following live dates in 2015.

Sunday Nov 8th – Colston Hall, Bristol
Saturday Nov 14th – Union Chapel, London (12-2pm – FREE £5 suggested donation)
Friday Dec 4th – White Noise festival, Leicester
