The band are set to play Reading & Leeds Festivals 28th-29th August
After collaborating on the track ‘The Belly Of Your Bedroom’, from their 2011 debut, No One Gets Lost Anymore, The Smith Street Band returns to join forces with Lucy Wilson (The Sugarcanes) to release a new digital and 7-inch single, ‘I Scare Myself Sometimes’. Recorded during the Throw Me In The River sessions, the track is a poetic narrative through the self-effacing mind of frontman Wil Wagner. Backed by a string section, it is a tale of heartbreak and hope; sex, love and self-destruction. The song also comes accompanied with a new animated film clip created by Celeste Potter (Courtney Barnett, DZ Deathrays, Regurgitator), who also illustrated the 7”s cover.
Upon returning from a tour of the U.K. and Europe, including the band’s upcoming performances at Reading and Leeds Festivals, ‘I Scare Myself Sometimes’ will be launched with an all-encompassing Australian tour, featuring appearances at the Poison City Weekender and the band’s very own I Love Life fests, before they once again head off to North America in October, this time touring in support of good friends, The Front Bottoms.
‘I Scare Myself Sometimes’ is out digitally this Friday August 21st. Physical release on 7” vinyl coming this October – pre-order bundles up now via: http://banquetrecords.com/KT1-048
